Seagate FreeAgent Go Troubleshooting & Teardown

Recently my Seagate FreeAgent Go could not be detected. I have tried on Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines, but still no luck.

I have followed Seagate Trouble Shooting Guide here as well, but still no luck. Now, my choice is whether to return (RMA) or troubleshoot myself.

I decided to just open it myself .. :)

surprisingly, 7200 RPM HDD!!

I open up the unit, break the adhesives, and then I put it into a typical SATA HDD casing.

And ... it works!! So for those who don't want to wait for the unit to be returned to manufacturer, you can just buy a typical SATA HDD casing. It saves your time and data as well!! (if the HDD is still good of course).
